Synth and Software’s Top 10 Synth Soundtracks
#3 – Maurice Jarre: Witness
Maurice Jarre.
That’s it, that’s the tweet – or it would be if it were a tweet.
#2 – Cliff Martinez: Solaris
Cliff Martinez was mentioned several times, and rightly so, because his synth scores are terrific. Check out this one, and also check out his synth scores for The Knick, a wonderfully offbeat TV series that was canceled in 2017 but is reportedly – hopefully! – getting a reboot.
#1 – Tangerine Dream: Risky Business
Risky Business made almost every contributor’s list, and on that basis it’s at the top of this one. Of course Tangerine Dream is a well-known as a group, but Christopher Franke – one of its members – was also mentioned on his own.
Tangerine Dream has always been interesting. Kids, let this be a lesson on – among other things – how to use an arpeggiator without being boring.
