IN A WORLD where everything is called “cinematic,” here’s a synth that really is
Native instruments Ashlight is the third in a series of granular synths in their “cinematic” line. As the headline says, this one focuses on dark sounds, and you’ll hear that very clearly in the video featured in this post.
Ashlight’s one-shot Sample module includes choirs, synths, noise, percussion, pulses. You can layer multisampled pianos, strings, vibes, ceramics, and other samples for melodic sounds. It also has an arpeggiator.
The Grain module, which can be synced to the host tempo, is where the sample are sliced and diced to create the “cinematic” sound.
