Online Concert Series Moogmentum in Place Continues with Michael Whalen

Emmy Award-winning composer and Synth and Software contributor Michael Whalen performs on Facebook Live today at 4pm Eastern.
Today the nonprofit Bob Moog Foundation continues its month-long fundraising series Moogmentum in Place with a streaming concert by Michael Whalen. Michael composed the scores for dozens of television shows, films, and commercials. He’s also an enthusiastic supporter of the foundation’s efforts. He wrote the article, “How to Design Sounds Like a Film Composer,” for our February issue. Michael’s latest album, Sacred Spaces, is a musical tour de force that we wholeheartedly recommend.
Moogmentum in Place serves to raise funds for the Moogseum, which celebrates the life and achievements of pioneering synth designer Bob Moog. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, the museum is temporarily closed and its staff laid off because of coronavirus concerns. Donations will help the Moogseum get back on its feet when it reopens.
The series also benefits Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, the foundation’s hallmark education project for teaching schoolchildren the science of sound. You can watch Michael Whalen play for Moogmentum in Place on the Bob Moog Foundation’s Facebook page.
