About This Month’s Cover

In 2017 I was fortunate enough to interview French synthesist Jean-Michel Jarre, who was about to embark on his first American tour ever. At the end of our conversation, he invited me to attend one of his shows, but sadly I had to decline. Luckily he returned for several shows the following year, and I took him up on his offer.

The concert I attended was in Houston, Texas, where in 1986 he made history by performing with the city’s skyline as a backdrop for his enormous projections, fireworks display, and laser light show. For his 2018 appearance, his record company generously offered me a photo pass that allowed me to roam the auditorium with my camera. This month’s cover was one of the photos I took during that performance.
