David Battino

David Battino (batmosphere.com) majored in philosophy at Oberlin but spent most of his time hacking synthesizers in the college’s electronic music studios. That led to designing sounds for theater, arcade games, and Ray Charles’s album My World. He’s the founding editor of Music & Computers, co-author of The Art of Digital Music, and a longtime creativity columnist for Keyboard, Electronic Musician, and Waveform. David lives near Sacramento with his remarkably patient wife and a long list of DIY projects. He regularly jams with synth guru Mark Vail as the duo Atonal University.
