Jerry Lewis Encounters the Theremin
When I was a boy, I loved Jerry Lewis movies because he was goofier than any kid I’d ever met.
One scene I’ve always remembered since then was his onscreen encounter with the theremin, an electronic instrument that predated Bob Moog’s first modular synth by four decades. You can watch that scene here:
In this clip from his 1957 film The Delicate Delinquent, Jerry Lewis has an accidental encounter with a theremin, an electronic musical instrument patented in 1928 that you play by waving your hands through the air.
